Highgrove are excited to be exhibiting at the INDX Beds Show on the 28-29 April.

A modern bedroom featuring a navy upholstered bed with a tall, tufted headboard. The bed has a white mattress and is positioned against a light-colored wall. Beside it, a wooden nightstand holds decorative items. Large windows let in natural light, and patterned artwork adorns the wall above the bed. A plush rug complements the furnishings.

At Highgrove, sustainability is not a standalone initiative but a core part of how they operate and plan for the future. As a British manufacturer, they recognise both the responsibility and the opportunity they have to reduce environmental impact while continuing to deliver high-quality products. Over recent years, Highgrove have taken meaningful steps to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste, and invest in cleaner technologies that support long-term sustainability.

A key milestone in this journey came in 2025, when they made a significant investment in solar energy. Building on their existing 200kW solar installation, they added a further 800kW of capacity, bringing their total on-site solar generation to 1 megawatt. This expansion represents a major step forward in reducing their reliance on non-renewable energy sources and improving the overall efficiency of their operations.

As a result of this investment, Highgrove is now able to offset 100% of its energy requirements from the grid through renewable generation. Even more encouragingly, over 50% of the clean energy they produce is fed back into the national grid, contributing to the wider transition towards renewable energy across the UK.

The impact of this system has already been substantial. Between February and mid-June alone, their solar panels generated approximately 299 megawatt hours of energy, while the business consumed 145 megawatt hours during the same period. This demonstrates not only the effectiveness of the installation but also the scale of surplus clean energy they are able to contribute externally.

The total investment of £560,000 into the additional 800kW system reflects their long-term commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency. While this is a significant financial commitment, they view it as an essential investment in the future of both their business and the environment.

Sustainability at Highgrove extends beyond energy generation. Highgrove continue to explore new ways to reduce waste, improve material efficiency, and refine their manufacturing processes to ensure they are operating as responsibly as possible. These efforts are ongoing and form part of a broader strategy to embed sustainability into every aspect of the business.
